Pattern Cutting Classes

The Studio can teach you how to draft and produce your own patterns, using a sleeve block. Or, if you have an understanding of drafting and cutting your own patterns, I can also teach you how to adapt your patterns into different shapes.

Pattern Drafting

3 hour work shop for 6 weeks.

Learn to draw a block pattern from your own measurements.

Using your pattern you will pattern cut and construct a fitted dress from cotton fabric to check the pattern is a perfect fit.

You will also construct a sleeve block, so that you have all the basics to start your pattern cutting journey.

You will then be-able to keep your pattern and create your own designs.

Adapting Patterns to fit

5 hours.

Suitable for those that have some sewing experience

I will teach you how to do full bust adjustments; how to grade patterns when your bust/waist/hips are different sizes to those on the bought pattern.

we will look at how to alter where the bust point is on the pattern and many more adjustments.

In this class we work mainly in half scale to build up an understanding of pattern development.
